Solarium

What is a solarium?

A solarium or tanning bed is a professionally-built bed which uses a series of special lamps to generate UVA & UVB radiation. Solariums use a special range of lamps that produce a spectrum very similar to the light emitted by the natural sun to stimulate melanin which creates tan in the skin.

The solarium lamps emit UVA & UVB rays onto the user’s skin, causing the user’s skin to release melanin and create the tan in the same way as the sun.
